September 2 (Tue) Bought vegetables at the market today. In Italy, there are many BIO labels, showing a real commitment to ingredient selection. When I asked the shopkeeper about cooking methods, they explained it carefully. It really hit home how deeply rooted knowledge of ingredients is in daily life here.

September 3 (Wed) Visited the library to look for Italian books. Locals read newspapers and chatted in a calm atmosphere. It’s not just a place for books but for people to gather. I learned how spaces for learning and interaction are rooted in daily life.
9月3日（水）図書館を訪ねてイタリア語の本を探した。地域の人が新聞を読んだり談笑していて、落ち着いた雰囲気。本だけでなく人の集まる場所になっている。学びと交流の場が生活に根付いているのを知った。
September 4 (Thu) Observed the variety of bread at the supermarket. Unlike Japan, harder breads are mainstream here, designed to complement meals. It’s also interesting how each region has its own distinctive breads. I felt the food culture reflects the diversity of daily life.
9月4日（木）スーパーでパンの種類を観察。日本と違い、硬めのパンが主流で食事に合わせる工夫がある。地域ごとに特色あるパンが並ぶのも興味深い。食文化が生活の多様性を映していると感じた。
September 5 (Fri) Had breakfast at a cafe. Standing while eating is the norm, and it’s interesting how interactions happen quickly. I truly felt the café culture as part of daily life.

September 6 (Sat) Revisited the neighborhood bakery. They remembered my face and asked, “The usual?” I felt relationships building through living here. I learned that everyday greetings are an important element rooted in the community.
9月6日（土）近所のパン屋に再訪した。顔を覚えてもらい「いつもの？」と声をかけられた。暮らすことで関係性が積み重なっていくのを感じた。日常の挨拶が地域に根ざす大切な要素だと学んだ。
September 7 (Sun) After my internship, took a short break at Ponte Santa Trinita. The Arno River was bustling today.

September 8 (Mon) After my internship ended, I walked around the centro for an hour with a friend on my way home. They explained the entrance designs and signs. It was a precious time to touch upon Italian history I wouldn’t have noticed alone.
9月8日（月）インターンが終わってから帰り道、友達と1時間centroを散策しました。エントランスの作りや看板の説明をしてくれました。自分だけでは気づかないイタリアの歴史に触れることができる貴重な時間。
September 9 (Tue) Spent the evening in the park. Families and friends gathered, everyone relaxed. The way people spend time in public spaces is rich. The forms of community rooted in daily life are diverse.
9月9日（火）夕方公園で過ごした。家族や友人が集まり、皆リラックスしていた。公共の場での時間の過ごし方が豊か。生活に根付いたコミュニティの形も様々。
September 10 (Wed) Went to the hospital today. A rash appeared on my skin, spread over a few days, and the itching is severe. Contacted the insurance company and called to make an appointment at the dermatologist. Making phone appointments always makes me nervous.
9月10日（水）今日は病院へ行ってきました。皮膚に湿疹が出て数日で広がって痒みが酷い。保険会社へ連絡して皮膚科へ予約の電話をした。電話予約は毎度、緊張する。
September 12 (Fri) Came home from my internship and made fluffy Japanese-style bread. Italian Farina has many varieties; I bought MANITOBA flour for bread. I used almond milk and honey instead of cow’s milk. I made it fluffy with my preferred taste and baking time.
9月12日（金）インターンから帰宅し、日本のふわふわ食パンを作りました。イタリアのFarinaは種類が多い、パン用のMANITOBA粉を購入しました。牛乳ではなくアーモンドミルクと蜂蜜を使いました。自分好みの味と焼き加減でふわふわに。
September 13 (Sat) At the gelateria where I intern, ACETO is an indispensable cleaning item. It removes grime without detergent and has excellent deodorizing power. Precisely because they handle gelato that goes into people’s mouths, they have top-tier standards for cleaning products.

September 14 (Sun) Bought fruit at the local market. Seasonal flavors like figs and peaches were abundant. Being able to sample before buying is one of the joys of making the trip.
9月14日（日）近所の市場で果物を購入。イチジクや桃など季節の味が豊富。試食もでき、味を確かめてから買えるのもわざわざ足を運ぶ楽しみの一つ。
September 15 (Mon) Italian class starts at 11:00, heading to school. We began by discussing the week’s events. Today I asked Marco about using “si”. The topic of Japanese usage of “si” came up at my internship, and he explained how Italians use it.
